At Mystic Realm Blog, we love shining a light on the creators and storytellers who bring the paranormal community to life. Today, we’re excited to feature Roman and Jaren Daniels, the twin brothers behind the Supernatural Station Podcast.
What started as a creative outlet during downtime has grown into a thriving show filled with ghost stories, cryptid encounters, alien mysteries, and deep dives into the unexplained. From sharing listener submissions to interviewing fascinating guests, Roman and Jaren have built a space where truth-seekers, believers, and the simply curious can gather to explore the unknown.
In this Q&A, they share their journey, inspirations, and some of the spookiest stories they’ve come across.

For readers who might not be familiar yet, how did Supernatural Station Podcast get started, and what inspired the name and concept?
The podcast was started by Roman Daniels, one of the hosts of the show. In the beginning, he was inspired by storytelling podcasts like Real Ghost Stories Online, Jim Harold’s Campfire, and Weird Darkness. He wanted to create a show anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour that would feature several stories, eyewitness accounts, and the occasional fictional tale — a way to be creative during downtime.
Over time, the podcast grew into something bigger. Roman’s twin brother, Jaren, joined as co-host, and now the show blends written submissions, Reddit stories, and longer guest interviews. It has evolved into something more similar to The Confessionals or Sasquatch Chronicles, but with its own unique style.
The name and concept were inspired by haunted ghost trains. Roman has always found trains fascinating, and when combined with the eerie and supernatural, they became the perfect symbol for the show. That’s why their logo features a train with a skull in the steam billow.
What motivates you to explore and share stories about ghosts, cryptids, aliens, and other paranormal mysteries?
We’ve both had our own possible paranormal encounters, both shared and individual, that are very hard to explain away. That curiosity — the need to understand what happened and why — drives us forward. We also believe in honouring people’s experiences without judgment. Who are we to say what’s real or not? By sharing their stories, we open up more rabbit holes and deeper discussions about the mysteries of this world.
Outside of the podcast, who are you as people? How did your interest in the supernatural begin?
We’re twins who grew up in the greater Salt Lake City valley. Being raised in a very religious area made us question the world around us. That outsider’s perspective fuelled our curiosity.
Roman’s first major experience came as a child, when he saw a full-bodied apparition of an elderly pioneer woman tucking the blankets around Jaren’s feet. She looked at him before vanishing — an event their father later confirmed he too had witnessed as a boy. From there, the brothers (and their cousin Sean) began doing their own amateur paranormal investigations around Utah. Those early encounters laid the foundation for what would eventually become the podcast.
Which episodes have been the most memorable for you?
- Episodes 6 & 7 – “Supernatural Family Encounters”: Featuring cousin Sean, these episodes recount their own encounters in Scofield, Utah — site of the worst mining disaster in the western U.S.
- Episodes 11–13: Exploring tunnels under Salt Lake City, reptilian connections, and Utah mysteries with Sean.
- Episodes 15, 17, 55–57: Featuring Hraefn, one of their favourite guests, whose insights and perspectives made a huge impact.
- Episode 33: Perhaps the most meaningful — featuring their late grandmother telling her own paranormal stories, along with their mother’s experiences. This episode immortalized their grandmother’s voice and memories forever.
What’s the scariest real-life story you’ve heard on the show?
Episode 65 features PJ from Arkansas, who described terrifying encounters with an aggressive male Sasquatch. Another chilling tale came from their mother, who once experienced life-sized dolls that came to life (Episode 33). Both still send shivers down their spines.
Do you prefer listener stories, folklore, investigations, or expert interviews?
We love the mix. Each type of story brings something valuable. Listener stories make the show personal, folklore helps us understand cultural beliefs, and expert interviews open doors to new ideas. The more variety, the better.
What tools and techniques do you use to produce the podcast?
We keep it simple and budget-friendly. For editing, we use Audacity. For hosting, RedCircle. For sound effects, we use Freesound.org and Incompetech.org. You don’t need to spend big to make good content — free tools can do the job just fine.
Has feedback from your listeners influenced the show?
Absolutely. Listeners asked for more on time slips and glitches in the matrix, which we eventually covered thanks to their submissions. Some listeners also referred us to guests like Nathan Millet and PJ, which turned into great episodes. We love staying connected with our audience through social media — it shapes the direction of the podcast.
What’s a dream topic or location you’d love to cover one day?
We’d love to interview more Native American storytellers who are open to sharing their traditions and encounters. The Conjuring house would also be a fascinating case to dive into. And personally, we’d love to feature real vampire stories from people who are connected to that world.

Finally, what advice would you give someone starting a paranormal podcast?
Don’t obsess over analytics, numbers, or follower counts. Focus on creating the show you want to make. Borrow inspiration, but don’t copy — make your own unique space. And most importantly: don’t give up. Many podcasts fade before episode 10. If you push past that, you’re already ahead of the curve.
